We welcome you to our Unique Jamaica and we just want to say that when you are away from home you should continue to take care of yourself and your possessions. Please see below a few helpful hints to ensure a wonderful vacation while here in Jamaica.
- Always use authorized transportation for your journey.
- Do not leave valuables in your luggage at any time.
- Do not leave your personal belonging unattended.
- Use the safety deposit box in your hotel room, if available at all times.
- Always ask for directions and use a map prior to setting out on your journey.
- Keep car doors locked.
- Do not leave valuables or bags in your car in plain view.
- If lost, go to police station or service station that is well lit to ask for directions.
- Always check your vehicle for gas, oil etc. before going on your journey.
- Remember in Jamaica we drive on the left.
- Always observe traffic signs and speed limits.
- Remember to use your seat belt. It is the law.
- Do not stop on dark or lonely roads.
- Do not pick up persons you do not know.
- Always carry your wallet or purse discreetly.
- Most shops accept major credit cards and/or travelers cheques. So limit the amount of cash you take on the road with you.
- Do not open your hotel room door without verifying who the person is.
- Do not invite strangers into your room.
- Call 119 for the Police Emergency response if you are in a potentially dangerous situation.
- If you need emergency assistance and/or you are injured or arrested you should immediately contact your Embassy/High Commission. You may also contact the Jamaica Tourist Board offices located in Kingston, Montego Bay and Port Antonio.
